Rue Oberkampf in the 11th arrondissement gives access to several Cité or dead-end, such as the Cité du Figuier. This paved and green dead-end seems to be appart from the city and its constant stirring. An unusual place with these colored low houses which have a particular history. They were formerly occupied by workshops and their workers. Hence the industrial architecture that the new owners were able to develop. Today artists, craftsmen or independent companies occupy the buildings. A house catch the attention by its green color, but it also has a historical significance with its arcades from the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
