GRAFFITI & STREET ART
- SETH -
An imaginary world on the walls of Paris.
Invited by the association "les lézarts de la Bièvre" in the 13th arrondissement, Julien "Seth" Malland has painted several walls with a recognizable style. The artist paints only characters, mostly children and characters passing through walls. Many of them paint walls, with brushes and spray cans. An invitation to colour our drab environment. But the artist also creates a fantasy world that might be discovered passing through walls which mark the property, borders and define spaces. With these characters passing through walls, the artist seems to propose us another world, other possibilities, and he invites us to see what is there on the other side. So, follow them!
The artist also painted a mural, tribute to Maud Kwasniewski who died earlier this year. Artist, she was actively involved in the association "les Lézarts de la Bièvre". That beautiful and poetic work can be seen on a wall of the rue Émile Deslandres. Surrounded by colorful flyingfish, a girl flies into the sky aboard a colorful umbrella. She dominates the greyness and escapes a sad and gloomy universe represented by a mass of grey umbrellas.
Seth also likes to share and collaborate with other artists from whom he learns new techniques and discovers new styles. He has done many trips related in several books, such as "Globe Painter" and "Tropical Spray". Recently, he shared his passion in a documentary series "les nouveaux explorateurs". Below, he collaborated with two artists, Kislow, Ukrainian artist, and Babs, graffiti artist.
